$50,000 WINLINE CIS LAN Season 9 announced ahead of Major cutoff

WINLINE CIS LAN Season 9 has been announced for October 20–23 in Moscow, with 16 teams set to compete for a $50,000 prize pool.

The tournament will take place shortly before the invitation cutoff for the PGL Major Singapore, giving participating teams another opportunity to collect valuable Valve Regional Standings points.

Any team listed in the global VRS will be eligible to sign up.

The competition will begin with GSL-style best-of-three groups before moving into a single-elimination playoff bracket.

The Grand Final will be played as a best-of-five.

The prize pool distribution includes $30,000 for first place, $9,000 for the runner-up, $4,000 for each semifinalist, and $750 for teams finishing fifth through eighth.

Nemiga won the previous WINLINE CIS LAN event and gained 117 VRS points from the title run, climbing 14 places to 24th in the global ranking.

With several European teams still separated by narrow margins in the Major qualification race, Season 9 could have a significant impact before the Singapore invitation cutoff.
