MIBR GC overwhelms FENNEL in Game Changers Championship opener
MIBR GC opened its VALORANT Game Changers Championship 2026 campaign with a commanding 2–0 victory over FENNEL GC, winning Summit 13–5 and Ascent 13–5 in São Paulo.
The Americas Last Chance Qualifier winner advanced to an upper-bracket quarterfinal against G2 Gozen, while FENNEL dropped into the lower bracket.
MIBR shuts down FENNEL’s Summit pick
FENNEL selected Summit, but MIBR established control on defense and reached halftime with a 9–3 advantage.
Mizzy played a central role in denying access to the sites, collecting 17 kills in the opening half. FENNEL won the second pistol but could not turn that opportunity into a sustained recovery.
MIBR closed the map 13–5, with mizzy finishing on 19 kills. Waved added 18, including eight first kills, repeatedly giving MIBR an early numerical advantage.
A dominant attack settles Ascent
MIBR’s own map pick followed a similar pattern. Its attack repeatedly broke through FENNEL’s defenses, producing a 10–2 halftime lead.
FENNEL’s composition featured both Omen and Astra alongside Chamber, but it could not consistently stop MIBR’s site entries. The Brazilian side completed another 13–5 victory to finish the sweep.
Waved led Ascent with 24 kills, 12 deaths and three assists on Phoenix.
Waved leads the opening statement
Across the series, waved recorded 42/24/8, 325 ACS, 202 ADR and 11 first kills.
The result gave MIBR a convincing start after finishing third at the previous Game Changers Championship. FENNEL, competing at the event for the first time as an organization, must now survive the lower bracket to extend its tournament.
