KIWOOM DRX releases seven players and three coaches after missing VCT partnership
KIWOOM DRX has announced the release of seven players and three coaches across its main and academy VALORANT teams following its exclusion from Riot Games’ next VCT partnership cycle.
The organization said the departures followed discussions between management and players about the implications of its partnership status and the changing competitive system.
MaKo and long-serving coaches depart
The main-team departures include MaKo, BeYN, free1ng and HYUNMIN, alongside head coach termi and coach Argency.
MaKo leaves the organization’s competitive core after joining in July 2021, during its Vision Strikers era. His tenure included appearances at 11 international events.
Termi and Argency also leave after working with the organization since its Vision Strikers days, making the announcement a substantial break from the structure behind its international history.
Academy roster also affected
DRX Academy coach OD and players Kyra, apeX and Krexx were released in the same announcement.
The remaining main-team roster consists of Flicker and yong, with glow listed as coach.
Despite the extensive departures, KRX emphasized that it will continue competing in VALORANT and is preparing for its next chapter. The announcement therefore marks a major rebuild rather than a confirmed withdrawal from the game.
