G2 Esports captain Jacob "valyn" Batio has reportedly reached an agreement to join LYON for the 2027 season if the Mexican organization secures a partnership slot in VCT Americas.

According to Sheep Esports, the move is conditional on LYON being selected as one of the eight VCT Americas partner organizations.

The deal has not been officially confirmed.

LYON reportedly planning roster around Latin American core

LYON is reportedly looking to build its roster primarily around Latin American players, with valyn expected to provide experienced leadership as the team's in-game leader.

The move would end valyn's three-year spell with G2 Esports .

During his time with the organization, he helped G2 secure four regional championships and reach the Masters Bangkok 2025 Grand Final.

Reports of a G2 rebuild have already linked the organization with sato and kiNgg for 2027.

That could make VALORANT Champions 2026 the final tournament for G2's current roster.

Until LYON 's VCT Americas status and the transfer itself are officially confirmed, valyn remains part of G2 Esports .
