FunPlus Phoenix start VCT 2025: China Stage 2 with avictory over Wolves Esports

FunPlus Phoenix defeated Wolves Esports in the group stage of VCT 2025: China Stage 2 with a 2:0 scoreline ( Sunset 13:5, Corrocode 13:7).

For both teams, this was the opening match of the group stage in Group Omega. With this victory, FunPlus Phoenix —who were considered the underdogs in this matchup—rose to the top of the standings, while Wolves Esports dropped to the bottom. Each team will play four more matches, so both still have a solid chance to reach the playoffs, where the top four teams out of six in the group will qualify.

VCT 2025: China Stage 2 is taking place from July 3 to August 31. Twelve partnered teams from the Chinese region are competing for two direct slots at Champions 2025 and valuable CN points, which will determine two additional teams to qualify for the world championship.
