EDG players accuse S1Mon of unprofessionalism – Fans leak Smoggy ’s personal data
A public conflict has erupted within EDward Gaming ’s VALORANT roster after team manager Aqua explained during a livestream why the squad will finish the season with Zhang "Jieni7" Juntai instead of Hsieh " S1Mon " Meng-hsun. The situation quickly escalated into a dispute involving players, the organization, and eventually illegal actions by fans.
Following the first two weeks of VCT 2025: China Stage 1, EDward Gaming announced the replacement of S1Mon with Jieni7, prompting fans to demand an explanation. In recent days, EDG manager Aqua stated on stream that S1Mon was lazy, spent little time practicing, and did not commit to learning new agents like Jieni7.
In response, S1Mon shared screenshots of his private chat with Aqua , claiming other team members were just as unprofessional or relaxed. This prompted EDG players to speak out publicly against S1Mon via posts on the Chinese social media platform Sina Weibo. Here are some of the key statements:
If you communicated even 1/5 as much during scrims as you do on your streams, none of us would have wanted you benched.
Zheng "ZmjjKK" Yongkang
Refusing to talk to us during scrims and matches — did you ever consider how badly we all want to win? Stop trying to smear the coaching staff and management.
Wan "CHICHOO" Shunzhi
You don’t remember anything we discuss in scrims, don’t join VOD reviews, contribute nothing, and just wait to be told what to do.
Wang "nobody" Senxu
We’re the ones inviting you to play after practice. Have you ever invited me once? Since being benched, you don’t speak up in meetings unless addressed directly. But on stream? Completely different person. Don’t you think that’s strange?
Zhang " Smoggy " Zhao
The backlash from S1Mon ’s fans escalated into illegal behavior. In retaliation for the team’s criticism of their favorite player, some fans leaked private information about Smoggy online — including his documents and home address.
According to media reports, EDward Gaming has taken a firm stance in support of their player and has already contacted law enforcement to investigate the data breach. The organization is seeking legal action against those responsible for exposing personal information, which could endanger Smoggy ’s safety.
