100 Thieves and Sentinels solidified their position at the top of Group Alpha at VCT 2025: Americas Stage 1

On April 4, two more matches of Group Alpha took place at VCT 2025: Americas Stage 1 — 100 Thieves vs LOUD and Sentinels vs Evil Geniuses . Their victories allowed the leaders to secure their spot above the elimination zone, while the situation for the losing teams became even more critical.

Sentinels and Evil Geniuses
The same Evil Geniuses who lifted the Champions 2023 trophy will likely never be seen in the same lineup again. This match was a true disaster for them: Sentinels won their pick (Pearl) effortlessly with a score of 13:6, and on the opponent’s map (Haven) dealt an even more crushing defeat — 13:4. The current standings in Group Alpha are as follows: Sentinels hold 3rd place with a 2:1 record, while Evil Geniuses are in 5th with a 1:2 result. If the situation doesn’t change, the team risks failing to make it out of the group.

100 Thieves and LOUD
The second match of the day was much more spectacular. LOUD were just two rounds away from winning the series 2:0. After a confident win on the opponent’s pick (Haven) with a score of 13:6, the Brazilians secured 9 rounds on attack on their map (Icebox). However, 100 Thieves managed to come back and win 13:11. On the deciding map, LOUD tried to regroup and showed a consistent performance, but the favorites — 100 Thieves — still escaped defeat and claimed their second victory in the tournament, closing the series 2:1.

VCT 2025: Americas Stage 1 takes place from March 21 to May 4 in LAN format at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles. Twelve partnered teams from VCT Americas are competing for three invites to Masters Toronto, as well as Americas Points, which will determine the teams that qualify for Champions 2025.
