Detonation FocusMe eliminated from VCT Pacific 2025 Kick-off After loss to Gen.G

At the VCT Pacific 2025 Kick-off tournament in South Korea, Detonation FocusMe concluded their run after falling to Gen.G. Following the match, player Akame and coach NorthernLights shared their thoughts in an official interview.

Akame: "We Couldn't Perform at Our Best"

The player acknowledged the strength of their opponent and admitted that the team was unable to reach its full potential:

"Gen.G is truly a very strong team. We felt like we were beginning to see a path to victory, but today, we just couldn't play at our best. It’s a bit disappointing."

Coach NorthernLights also emphasized the high level of their opponents:

"Gen.G were the strongest team last year, and in this match, they once again demonstrated their power."

Mistakes and Lessons Learned
Detonation FocusMe managed to improve throughout the tournament, securing victories against GE and PRX, but they struggled in the decisive match. According to Akame, the opponent's speed and coordination played a crucial role:

" Munchkin as an IGL was much stronger than I expected. Gen.G moved twice as fast as us and seemed to predict our every move. We realized we were falling behind, started getting nervous, and couldn’t play the way we normally do."

Plans for Stage 1
The next important step for Detonation FocusMe will be Stage 1, which starts in a month and a half. Akame stated that the team is determined to qualify for Masters:

"This time, we couldn’t make it further, but next time, we’ll definitely break through to Masters and prove our strength. We want to show the world our game."

A Message to the Fans
Despite the loss, the players of Detonation FocusMe expressed their gratitude to the fans and promised to deliver better results in the future.

"Thank you to everyone who supported us from Japan. We will work hard, so please continue cheering for us in Stage 1!" said Akame

Coach NorthernLights added that the team will analyze their mistakes and improve:

"We will do our best to enhance our gameplay and achieve a better result in Stage 1. Thank you for your support!"

The VCT Pacific 2025 Kick-off tournament continues, with Gen.G now moving forward in the battle for a spot at Masters 2025.
