Updated MIBR Roster Loses to 100 Thieves , LOUD Easily Defeat EG - Results of day 1 Playoffs at VCT 2025: Americas Kickoff

The Americas region joins China and Europe in hosting regional qualifiers. Yesterday, two matches were held as part of the playoffs stage of VCT 2025: Americas Kickoff, determining the first event favorites. Below, we recap the results of these clashes.

Evil Geniuses vs LOUD
The opening match featured a clash between the 2023 and 2022 world champions EG vs LOUD . Although these are merely symbolic titles, as the core players who won those championships have long since moved to other teams, the matchup still carried some significance. However, it turned out to be fairly one-sided. Despite going into overtime, LOUD closed out the match against their opponents with a solid 2-0 victory.

MIBR vs 100 Thieves
The second match showcased a duel between the dark horse MIBR and 100 Thieves . MIBR had completely rebuilt their roster, rallying around the legendary duelist aspas . However, this was not enough to secure victory, as 100 Thieves comfortably claimed a 2-0 win.

As a result of these matches, LOUD and 100 Thieves advance to the next round, where they will play their matches on Saturday. Meanwhile, MIBR and EG drop to the lower bracket, awaiting their opponents in elimination matches to fight for their tournament lives.

VCT 2025 Americas Kickoff runs from January 16 to February 8 in a LAN format at the Riot Games Arena. Twelve partnered teams from the VCT program are competing for two invitations to the Masters Bangkok tournament and critical Americas Points needed to qualify for the World Championship.
