The new assistant coaches, frenya and rudi , join the existing coaching team, which includes head coach Anthony “Zikz” Gray and analyst Nathan “Kaimera” McAdams.
With these additions, the coaching staff now consists of four members.
In August, 100 Thieves held a unique open recruitment process for coaches, challenging applicants to analyze the Icebox map for the 100 Thieves team and the Haven map for Fnatic as a form of evaluation. As a result of this open selection, the team chose two coaches who are relatively unknown to the international audience. Yury "frenya" Elkin previously served as a coach and analyst at KPI Gaming , but this will be his first appearance on the North American Valorant scene. rudi " rudi " McKen, a former player with EXO Clan and NiL, will also take on his first coaching role.
Head coach Zikz commented on the appointment of the newcomers on the team’s official website:
Frenya and rudi will bring fresh perspectives to our well-established coaching process. They will focus on researching and developing tactics against our opponents. Their tactical skills and attention to detail are particularly impressive. Although they will work remotely for now, they will join the team in person at critical moments of the season if needed.
He also added that fans can look forward to seeing fresh faces on the North American coaching scene, expressing confidence that the open recruitment allowed them to find coaches with a deep strategic vision of the game.
