NAVI overturn Liquid's match-point lead to reach MPL Indonesia final and qualify for M8
NAVI defeated Team Liquid ID 3–2 in the MPL Indonesia Season 18 upper-bracket final, securing their first MPL Indonesia grand-final appearance and a place at the M8 World Championship.
The victory made NAVI the first Indonesian team to qualify for M8 this season. Liquid remained in contention but dropped into a best-of-seven elimination match against Bigetron by Vitality .
Liquid establish two separate leads
Liquid won the opening game before NAVI responded in game two, with Joshuaa and Karss contributing to the equalizer. Karss earned the game’s best-player award.
Liquid then regained the advantage in game three. Aran received the game’s individual honour as his team moved ahead 2–1, placing NAVI one loss away from the lower bracket.
That left Liquid needing only one more victory to secure both the grand-final berth and the M8 qualification place.
NAVI win the final two games
NAVI held firm in game four, resisting Liquid’s pressure and forcing the series into a deciding fifth game.
Karss again played an important role as NAVI completed the turnaround, winning the final two games to close the series 3–2.
The result extended NAVI’s unbeaten playoff run after their 3–1 victory Over Alter Ego in the previous round. Having finished second in the regular season, NAVI needed two playoff series wins to reach the grand final.
Grand final awaits on November 8
NAVI will contest the best-of-seven grand final on November 8, facing the winner of Liquid against Bigetron.
That lower-bracket final takes place on November 7 and also decides Indonesia’s second M8 representative.
NAVI’s own qualification is already secured, allowing the team to enter the domestic final with its international objective achieved and the Season 18 championship still available.
