Team Liquid sweeps ONIC to keep MPL Philippines four-peat bid alive

Team Liquid PH eliminated ONIC Philippines 3–0 in the MPL Philippines Season 18 lower bracket semifinal, recovering from its upper bracket defeat to remain in contention for the championship.

The defending champion advanced to face Aurora Gaming PH in the lower bracket final, where a grand-final place and the second Philippine M8 berth would be at stake.

Liquid controls all three games

Liquid won the three games with kill scores of 9–4, 8–3 and 8–2. KarlTzy helped establish ControL around the MAP Esports and major objectives, while Teddy completed the opening two games without a death.

The sweep prevented ONIC from building momentum and gave Liquid a direct response to its 3–1 loss against Aurora the previous Day .

ONIC’s season ends in fourth

For ONIC, the defeat ended a campaign that had included a first-place regular-season finish. Consecutive playoff losses to Falcons and Liquid left the team outside both the championship match and the Philippines’ M8 delegation.

Liquid moved one series away from another domestic final. To continue its pursuit of a fourth consecutive MPL Philippines title, however, it would need to defeat the same Aurora side that had already sent it into the lower bracket.
