MSC 2025 Results: SRG Defeats RRQ Hoshi in a Five-Game Drama
The second day of the MSC 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC) Knockout Stage featured five games of drama and incredible individual action. Two teams advanced to the semifinals, while two others were cut short. Selangor Red Giants (SRG.OG) still held onto their title hopes by eliminating RRQ Hoshi , and ONIC PH silenced their critics with a convincing victory over Team Spirit .
RRQ Hoshi vs SRG.OG (2–3) - The King Defeated Again
RRQ Hoshi came in eager to avenge their loss at M6, but SRG.OG proved their worst nightmare yet. The first game was intense, with intense objective and kill exchanges. Innocent managed to score a Maniac, but RRQ turned the tables with a brilliant Rinz performance that secured the wipeout and the opening victory.
SRG responded in Game 2 with aggression from the first minute. Stormie , Pharsa, and KRAMMM were dominant, closing the game with a wipeout and a Lord in the 10th minute. Game 3 was again a tight affair, but SRG managed to pick apart RRQ's formation and secure the win through disciplined map control.
RRQ rallied in Game 4 with an aggressive strategy and sharp rotations. They led by 11,000 gold and 10 kills, forcing SRG to play defensively. However, in Game 5, SRG showed their class. Turtle dominance, the Kalea-Beatrix combination , and neat teamfight execution led them to Lord and close out the match. RRQ had to put their ambitions on hold, while SRG advanced to the semifinals as the undisputed defending champions.
Team Spirit vs ONIC PH (1–3) - ONIC PH Proves Champion Mentality
ONIC PH faced immense pressure after a mixed performance in the group stage. Team Spirit , who had previously impressed, opened Game 1 with complete dominance. Oneshot dominated the jungle, and ONIC PH was unable to respond to TS's CC-heavy pressure.
However, in Game 2, ONIC PH turned things around. Their aggressive draft and fast rotations overwhelmed TS. Kelra performed exceptionally well with his Legendary status, destroying the opponent's backline and leveling the score.
Game 3 was one of the tournament's best matches. The 30-minute battle was filled with crucial moments. TS briefly took the lead through pressure from KidBomba , but ONIC PH remained composed. Kelra again proved decisive with a perfect re-engagement that resulted in a wipeout and match point.
Game 4 started with TS dominating, but Kelra and his Granger proved a nightmare in the late game. Two wipeouts on Lord Dance, including one against Maniac, ended Team Spirit 's hopes. ONIC PH advanced to the semifinals, proving they still deserved to be called champions.
