MSC 2025 Knockout Stage Day 1 Results: ONIC and Team Liquid PH Advance to the Semifinals

The first day of the MSC 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC) Knockout Stage proved that the path to the trophy leaves no room for error. Two top teams, ONIC and Team Liquid PH , secured their places in the semifinals , while Mythic Seal and Aurora Gaming were eliminated.

ONIC Indonesia vs Mythic Seal (3–0) - The Sky King's Complete Domination

ONIC Indonesia broke the surprising run of Mythic Seal , the Myanmar team that had previously eliminated two champions. Game 1 was intense, with Mythic Seal playing aggressively and pressuring ONIC. However, a rotation error from Kenn gave ONIC the momentum to wipe out and take the lead.

In Game 2, ONIC switched up their strategy with a fast draft. They immediately took a 6–0 lead within the first five minutes. Kairi scored a triple kill on the first Lord, followed by Savero closing the game with another triple kill. Game 3 was dominated by Mythic Seal with a counter to ONIC's split-push, but a crucial initiation from Kiboy and a double kill from Kairi turned the tide. ONIC swept the series and advanced to the semifinals.

Team Liquid PH vs Aurora Gaming (3–0) - Upset

Team Liquid PH put on a dominant performance, demonstrating why they're considered the pride of the Philippines' MLBB. In Game 1, Aurora Gaming took the lead with a quick First Blood and aggressive pressure. However, their late-game draft failed to withstand Liquid's calm and efficient tempo, closing the game in just 12 minutes.

Game 2 was a perfect showcase for Liquid PH. Without losing a single turret or a single lifeline, KarlTzy performed exceptionally, controlling the jungle, locking down Aurora's Tienzy . Game 3 gave Aurora some hope, but Sanford exploded with a triple kill on the third turtle, sparking an unstoppable snowball. Liquid PH secured three Lords and destroyed Aurora's base to secure their place in the semifinals.
