Dota 2 legend Ceb moves to MLBB to become SRG.OG Technical Director
After another unsuccessful year with OG's Dota 2 squad, Ceb has moved to MLBB to take on a managerial position with SRG.OG.
Sébastien “Ceb” Debs, co-founder of OG and one of the greatest Dota 2 players of all time, is now moving to the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports scene to become the Technical Director for Selangor Red Giants OG (SRG.OG).
OG announced Ceb's move in a short video posted on the organisation's official social media accounts on Wednesday (28 May), where he said he will soon be moving to Malaysia to work with the SRG.OG roster.
“I can't wait to be taking on the role of Technical Director of SRG.OG. You know, really looking forward to getting out there, starting to work with the boys and hopefully achieving great things,” said Ceb.
While OG is known most for its exploits in Dota 2, where Ceb helped the team win back-to-back world championships in The International (TI) 2018 and 2019, the organisation has recently ramped its expansion into other esports titles. In March, OG signed a strategic global partnership with Malaysian organisation Selangor Red Giants to form SRG.OG.
The partnership follows SRG's breakout year in 2024, where they won the MLBB Professional League (MPL) Malaysia Seasons 13 and 14 as well as the inaugural Mid Season Cup (MSC) and finished third in the M6 World Championship. SRG.OG are set to continue their dominance this year as they recently capped off a flawless run in the MPL Malaysia Season 14 Regular Season, with a third MPL Malaysia title very likely to follow.
Aside from MLBB, OG have also expanded to another mobile title in Honor of Kings.
Ceb now moves from active competition to a more managerial position after a rough start to 2025 for OG's European Dota 2 squad. In February, Ceb joined OG's active roster to take over as offlaner and Captain . However, he would step down from the role under two months later after the team failed to achieve any meaningful results.
Since then, OG have expanded their Dota 2 division to South America with the signing of OG.LATAM, which OG CEO Daniel Sanders claims said is now the organisation's main Dota 2 roster. Meanwhile, Ceb's longtime teammate and fellow OG co-founder in Johan “N0tail” Sundstein returned to competitive play to coach OG's overhauled European squad.
While OG did not elaborate on what Ceb's new role as SRG.OG's Technical Director will entail, or when he is expected to arrive in Malaysia to join the team, it is an exciting time for the organisation's MLBB division. Following their perfect run in the MPL Malaysia Season 15 Regular Season, SRG.OG will be starting the Playoffs in the upper bracket semifinals on Sunday (1 June).
Aside from being heavy favourites to win the league's 15th season, SRG.OG are also very likely to represent Malaysia in this year's MSC, which will be hosted as part of the Esports World Cup 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in July.
