Indonesian MLBB National Team Mixed Wins Must Be Satisfied with 3rd Place in IESF WEC 2024
Indonesia had to be satisfied with 3rd place in the MLBB Mixed Team category at IESF WEC 2024
After making the Indonesian Mobile Legends (ML) public sad enough, the national team managed to win the title at the IESF World Esports Championship (WEC) 2024.
Thursday, November 14, 2024, was an unpleasant day for Indonesian fans because our MLBB national team lost to Malaysia.
The national team, which consisted of Fnatic ONIC players, Sanz , CW , Albert, Kiboy , Rezz, and 1 BTR player, Luke , lost 2-1 to Malaysia, which was represented by Selangor Red Giants and JPNinerz players.
After that defeat, Indonesia had the right to compete for 3rd place with Saudi Arabia on Friday, November 15, 2024, which ended with a landslide score of 2-0.
Both Indonesia and Saudi Arabia were present in the fight for 3rd place with great enthusiasm. Both were teams that failed to advance to the final after losing to Malaysia and the Philippines.
The match started quite fiercely. The game was quite balanced in game 1. Saudi Arabia was ahead in elimination points, but Indonesia was able to maintain the network well.
This situation continued until the 16th minute when a big fight occurred. CW played well there, he was still able to take a safe position in the middle of the war and win a maniac. Saudi Arabia, who were evenly matched, made it easier for Indonesia to secure points in the first game.
Continuing to the second game, more or less the same situation occurred. Saudi Arabia continued to win the war, but Indonesia remained ahead in gold. Sanz et al were able to continue to win objectives even though they were often kidnapped or lost in the fight.
The 10th minute was a moment for the Indonesian team. Luke was able to hold back his opponent and even turn the situation around. The other national team players were also able to follow suit well. A big war was created and Saudi Arabia was again evenly matched. Indonesia secured the second game.
Actually, this is the worst result for the Indonesian national team in the IESF WEC event so far. We were the 1st place winner in 2022, then we also only dropped slightly to 2nd place in 2023.
However, this result must still be appreciated. Those who represent Indonesia now on paper are not MPL champions either. This is a good result for us now.
