Rumor: Soboro Set to Replace Empyros at Fnatic Before LEC 2026 Summer
Fnatic are reportedly preparing to make a change in the top lane ahead of the LEC 2026 Summer Split.
According to Sheep Esports, Lim “Soboro” Seong Min is expected to replace Panayiotis “Empyros” Tantis in Fnatic ’s starting lineup. The report cites sources close to the situation, though Fnatic have not officially announced the move at the time of publication.
Fnatic reportedly looked at several regions before deciding on Soboro. The organization explored options from the LCK, LCK Challengers League, China and Europe. One of the names considered was T1 Academy top laner Seong “Guardian” Tae Hyo, but Fnatic ultimately chose Soboro.
Soboro previously played for Invictus Gaming . At the start of 2026, he won the Demacia Cup 2025 with the team before competing in LPL 2026 Split 1. He was later removed from the starting lineup and eventually left the organization before Kang “TheShy” Seung Lok returned to Invictus Gaming ’s main roster.
If the move is completed, this will be Soboro’s first time playing in the LEC. However, he already has experience in Europe, having played for Galakticos in the TCL in 2023. At Fnatic , he would also reunite with Park “Lospa” Jun Hyeon, whom he previously worked with at Gen.G Academy .
According to the report, Fnatic are looking for a more flexible top lane profile. During 2026, the team often used Empyros as a weakside top laner but was not always able to fully use his strengths.
Soboro is considered a more carry-oriented player, with Gwen, Jax, K’Sante, Renekton and Rumble among his regular champion picks.
Fnatic have not yet confirmed Soboro’s transfer or Empyros’ replacement. If the report is confirmed, it will mark Lim “Soboro” Seong Min’s first appearance in the LEC.
