League of Legends Tops 2025 Esports Game Popularity Rankings

In 2025, the ranking of the most popular esports disciplines by hours watched was led by League of Legends, surpassing Counter-Strike and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

The top five remained unchanged compared to the previous year, but there was a redistribution of audience and broadcast time within the ranking. This information was reported by the portal Esports Charts.

5. Dota 2

Dota 2 took fifth place. The game recorded a slight decrease in total viewing time, but showed the highest growth in average audience among all the top 5 disciplines, indicating a concentration of interest around key tournaments, particularly The International.

4. Valorant

Valorant secured the fourth spot, having spent the year without significant changes in the competitive scene structure. The main volume of views was traditionally provided by international tournaments of the VCT series.

3. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang ranked third with approximately 433.9 million hours watched. The decline in the overall figure is related to the absence of the M7 World Championship in the 2025 calendar, while regional leagues in Southeast Asia maintained a stable audience.

2. Counter-Strike

Counter-Strike took second place—the only game in the ranking that showed an increase in total hours watched in 2025. The positive trend was driven by a revamped major format, the launch of new tournament series, and increased average viewership of key events.

1. League of Legends

League of Legends finished 2025 in the top position with around 735.5 million hours watched. Despite controversial changes in the North American ecosystem, the discipline maintained its leadership thanks to stable international tournament metrics and an increase in average broadcast audience.

The ranking is based on the total number of hours watched of esports broadcasts throughout 2025. A similar composition of the top five was recorded at the end of 2024, although the distribution of places was different then.
