The 2025 LPL will adopt a new competition system, merging the whole year into one season, divided into three stages. The winners of the first and second stages of the knockout round will represent LPL in international events such as First Stand and MSI. After the third stage of the regular season, the LPL 2025 season playoffs will be held to determine the LPL 2025 season champion.

The first stage will be divided into a group stage and a knockout stage. The 16 teams will be divided into four groups and play a BO5 single round-robin match within the group. The bilateral fearless draft mode and Solo side selection will be used for the first time. The winner of the first stage will represent the LPL region in the First Stand event.
