Korean media interview with TES coach Maokai: Our judgment was very lacking, hence we lost the match

Live broadcast on October 20th: In the 2024 League of Legends World Championship quarterfinals, TES was eliminated after losing 0-3 to T1, and TES head coach Maokai was interviewed by Korean media OSEN after the match.

"Our judgment was very lacking, hence we lost the match."

LPL's TES team head coach Maokai, in the regret of being eliminated, admitted the complete defeat in the match. He stated that although they predicted and prepared for the opponent's tactics, they couldn't perform as they did in the preparation process during the match, and the lack of judgment at various moments was the main reason for the failure.

On the 19th, at the Adidas Arena in Paris, France, in the 2024 League of Legends World Championship quarterfinals, TES lost 0-3 to T1, regretfully stopping at the top 8.

After the match, head coach Maokai expressed in an interview with OSEN: "We played much worse compared to the opponent. From the start of the match, the opponent's synergy was smoother than ours. Our lack of judgment led to the defeat."

T1 continued the Ban strategy they commonly used against G2 during the Swiss stage in this match, banning Yone and Aurora throughout the day, along with Skarner, making these three heroes fixed bans in the first round of BP. Head coach Maokai mentioned that although they anticipated T1's intentions, they were still at a disadvantage in terms of match pace and countermeasures.

"In fact, we had some predictions about which heroes T1 would ban in this match, and we picked heroes that we thought fit well with the team from the remaining ones. After losing the first game, we tried to speed up the offensive pace, but T1's response was excellent. We wanted to play more aggressively, but the opponent defended well. T1's performance today was indeed outstanding."

When asked who was the most threatening player, head coach Maokai replied: "It's hard to point out just one person. Including Faker, all T1 players performed very well, and the team's cooperation and synergy were very impressive. We did a lot of preparation, but the direction seemed unclear. It's unfortunate that the entire season and world championship journey ended here this year."
