Live Broadcast October 18: On the second day of the 2024 World Championship quarterfinals, the LPL's first seed BLG faces the LCK's first seed HLE.

In the first game, HLE's five members went top and successfully dove on Bin, with knight arriving later to kill Doran to mitigate losses. Early on, ON was caught while warding the river, and Xun's Vi engaged Viper, but BLG was countered by HLE with a 0 for 4 exchange.

In the mid-game, HLE secured two dragons, approaching the Ocean Soul, and at the Baron pit, knight was caught by Peanut's Poppy and slammed into the wall, dying. HLE successfully secured the Baron, and BLG's four members chased but were countered by Peanut's Poppy, who knocked two of them away.

In the late game, HLE easily secured the Ocean Soul, and BLG's damage was insufficient, leading to a wipeout by HLE. HLE then pushed forward, with Delight's Alistar initiating fiercely, leading HLE to a 1 for 5 exchange and taking down BLG's base to secure the first game.

[0:57] HLE's five members went top and successfully dove on Rumble, with Alistar securing the first blood. Ahri then went top to kill the low-health Gnar, resulting in a 1 for 1 exchange, with both top laners being traded.

[6:38] BLG secured three Rift Scuttlers, and HLE hesitated to engage seeing Rumble in the front, with Rumble then TPing back to the bottom lane.

[7:23] Rell was caught warding in the jungle by Alistar's flash, followed by Poppy's knock-up, with Sylas easily securing the kill. BLG then secured the first dragon.

[10:44] In the Rift Scuttler fight, Gnar TP'd to the front, Alistar engaged onto Gnar, MF ulted from the back, Sylas took down Rell, Vi targeted EZ but was kited, Gnar jumped over the wall to take down Vi, Sylas then bound MF, and EZ followed up to secure the MF kill. Sylas continued to chase and took down Ahri, resulting in a 0 for 4 exchange for HLE.

[13:24] Vi ganked top and locked onto Gnar, diving him with Rumble, while Sylas and Poppy secured the dragon, which was the Ocean Soul, giving HLE a 1k gold lead.

[15:58] HLE released the Rift Herald top, taking down BLG's first turret, with Rift Scuttlers at 2-4 in favor of BLG.

[19:18] In the dragon fight, Vi locked onto Poppy, and with team coordination, took her down. BLG's four members retreated down the lane, and HLE secured the second dragon.

[25:51] In the dragon fight, HLE secured the dragon, approaching the Ocean Soul, with Alistar knocking Ahri away in the river. Both teams disengaged, with the gold difference remaining small.

[27:16] Ahri was spotted in the bush near Baron, and Poppy flashed to slam Ahri into the wall, securing the kill for EZ. HLE then turned to take Baron, with Poppy securing it, MF killed the sacrificed Alistar, and Poppy knocked two BLG members away, taking down Rell. HLE secured a 1 for 2 exchange, leading by 1k gold.

[29:43] In BLG's jungle, Poppy was locked onto by Vi and Ahri, with Vi securing the kill on Poppy. EZ took down Rell, Ahri killed Sylas, EZ then killed MF, and Gnar smashed Vi, resulting in a 2 for 3 exchange for HLE, leading by 2k gold.

[31:50] HLE easily secures the Dragon Soul, HLE initiates a fight in the bot lane, EZ first kills Rell then kills Vi to get a double kill, Sylas takes down Ahri, Rumble's counter double kill is to no avail, Sylas kills Rumble to get a double kill, HLE achieves a 2 for 5 team wipe against BLG, destroys BLG's bot lane inhibitor, leading by 5k gold.

[34:04] HLE invades BLG's jungle, Alistar stylishly engages two, Gnar smashes Ahri, MF counters with her ultimate, Gnar kills Rell again, Sylas takes down Vi, Alistar finishes off MF, HLE achieves a 1 for 5 and pushes down BLG's base to take the first game.
