If BLG loses to WBG, then TES will have to go to the bubble match against LNG. Fortunately, BLG swept WBG effortlessly, and TES advanced to S14 as the second seed of LPL with an annual score of 150 points, surpassing WBG's 130 points.
Since 2020, TES has only been able to compete in the S series in even-numbered years. In 2020, TES won the summer championship and advanced to S10 as the first seed, but lost to S10 runner-up SN and stopped in the top four, achieving the best result in the world competition for TES so far.
In 2022, TES lost to JDG in the summer and finished as runner-up. With 180 points from being the runner-up in both spring and summer, they became the second seed of LPL and advanced to S12. In the first round of the group stage, they only won against the champion of the Vietnam VCS region, GAM, but lost to the LEC summer champion Rogue and S12 champion DRX.
LPL's long-time viewers should all remember that when calculating TES's chances of advancing in the second round, everyone assumed GAM as the experience baby and predicted TES's advancement probability based on the potential outcomes of each team.
Maybe you haven't seen Los Angeles at four in the morning, but you have seen TES lose to GAM at four in the morning. After a forty-minute battle, GAM's jungler Levi took a deep breath and led the team to shake hands with the TES members. LPL's audience faced the reality of TES's hopeless advancement to the accompaniment of the S12 theme song. In early 2022, the national football team lost to Vietnam in the World Cup qualifiers, and in October 2022, TES lost to GAM. The moments are similar.
After the "up and down" year of 2022, TES sent off knight and brought in Rookie in 2023, hoping that the blessing of the Incheon spirit could bring changes to the team. However, Rookie was unexpectedly beaten by Creme's Tristana in the spring playoffs, and TES stopped in the second round of the playoffs. In the summer, TES ranked fourth in the regular season, despite defeating EDG with Uzi, they lost to BLG and then to LNG. In the first round of the bubble match, they were defeated by WBG, completely missing out on S13.
This spring, TES lived up to expectations with a 13-3 record, ranking second in the regular season. The three losses were against BLG, JDG, and FPX, the top four teams in the regular season. Notably, after losing to JDG, TES achieved an eight-game winning streak without losing a single game, sweeping their opponents 2-0. In the playoffs, TES defeated JDG twice but lost to BLG both times, handing over the spring championship and becoming the spring runner-up again after two years.
In the summer, TES advanced to the summit group with a 6-0 record in the group stage, losing only one game to LNG. In the summit group, TES lost to their old rival BLG and also faced revenge from LNG, ultimately ranking third in the summit group with a 6-2 record. In the playoffs, TES easily defeated AL and successfully avenged LNG but was sent to the loser's final by BLG in the winner's final to face WBG. TES fought WBG until the battle song played and ultimately lost 2-3, finishing third in the summer. Fortunately, TES advanced to S14 again with a points advantage, and TES fans couldn't help but exclaim, "I've seen this episode before."
This year's Chengdu MSI was not a pleasant experience for TES. Although they easily crushed the Brazilian champion LOUD in the play-in stage and defeated FNC to advance to the group stage, they crossed TL in the group stage but were hit hard by GEN, falling into the loser's bracket and being swept 3-0 by G2.
