The league will adopt a three-stage format:
The first stage kicks off with a tournament, the second stage allows teams to hone their skills, while fans also have the opportunity to establish closer connections with their favorite teams and players.
The intensity of the competition increases in the third stage, with teams fiercely competing for spots in the World Championship.
The Americas league opens a new chapter for League of Legends esports, inheriting the long history of the LCS, LLA, and CBLOL. We aim to leverage the strengths of each region, expand the existing fan base, enhance competitive levels, and improve the performance of American teams in international events. At the same time, this model will also provide better development paths for professional players.
The full list of Tier 1 teams for the new league will be announced after the end of the 2024 season.
New format for the Americas league:
North America and South America will adopt the same format and schedule, ensuring fairness and consistency across the region. Each region will hold matches at their respective headquarters—North America at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles, and South America at the CBLOL Arena in São Paulo. Twice a year, top teams from different regions will gather for offline matches to compete for spots in global events.
