Coach kkOma: We really wanted to get the ticket to Gyeongju (the venue for the LCK finals) more than ever. Although we lost the first game today, the players and coaching staff adjusted well and focused on the match afterward, ultimately making a comeback to secure the ticket to Gyeongju. I feel very happy.
Gumayusi : I also want to go to Gyeongju to spend time with tens of thousands of fans in a large venue. I'm very happy that we can finally make it.
Q: How did you change the atmosphere after losing to HLE?
Coach kkOma: Although we lost 0-3 to HLE in the last match, looking back at the game, I personally felt that the gap wasn't that big. If we improve the areas that need improvement, we can perform at a completely different competitive level.
Gumayusi : I haven't said this within the team before; it's my own inner thought. I believe that the players' confidence and trust in each other are very important. If we lose the loser's bracket final, then the (summer season) will truly be over. We will work hard to prepare to the extent that we have no regrets and show what we have prepared in the match. Personally, I think the loser's bracket final will definitely not be like the last encounter.
Gumayusi : I think confidence and momentum are important. If we play with the mindset of "we will win," we can definitely defeat HLE.
Q: If you win against HLE in the loser's bracket final, you will directly advance to the S14 World Championship.
Coach kkOma: If we defeat HLE, we will directly advance to the World Championship, which will buy us a lot of time. This is a great advantage. Besides that, we really want to defeat HLE and stand on the finals stage. That's all I'm thinking about right now.
Q: Gumayusi often changes his hairstyle.
Gumayusi : My hair has grown longer now. Recently, I've been wearing this headband both in my daily life and during training. I thought I needed to maintain the feeling I have during training, so I wore the same headband today.
Q: What was regrettable about the first game today?
kkOma Coach: The regretful part of the first game is, of course, all parts are regrettable when you lose a match. We didn't play out the scenario we prepared and anticipated in the first game, but because our players are inherently excellent, we could choose other directions to play. I thought about how we could play better in the second game because this is a BO5.
Q: Gumayusi's decision in the final team fight of the second game was very good.
Gumayusi : Just like the content of the game, even though it wasn't an opportunity to push the base, the opponents still went in very deep. We had a good position for a backdoor teleport, and I thought that if I placed bombs from behind, it would create a good opportunity, so I teleported over. kkOma Coach: Not just our team, but looking at the teams in the current LCK playoffs, Ziggs and Maokai are high-priority champions that frequently appear. I certainly think Ziggs and Maokai are very good champions.
