Chovy : Both Left Hand and I are excellent mid laners, not being in the same league doesn't make us rivals

Live broadcast on September 1: In the 2024 LCK Summer Playoff, Generation Gaming defeated HLE 3-1, advancing to the 2024 LCK Summer Playoff finals. After the match, Korean media released an interview video with GEN mid laner Chovy.

Q: How did you review the first game after the loss?

Chovy : After the early setback, I felt the team was a bit anxious, which was regrettable. Personally, I developed well with Zeri and should have found a turning point. It was unfortunate that we couldn't show that in the first game.

Q: What was the most satisfying aspect of the team's performance today?

Chovy : Recently, the strategy and rotation during lane swaps have been crucial, and we did well in this part. The overall rotation while playing for map resources was very good.

Q: Do you usually study lane matchups with player Kiin?

Chovy : We don't study lane matchups, but we often study champions.

Q: Who plays Garen better, you or Kiin?

Chovy : Compared to Kiin, I have shown a higher proficiency with Garen. Even without comparing to Kiin, I believe my Garen proficiency is high. I understand Garen's core mechanics. I am confident in my Garen. The user's skill determines Garen's strength, and knowing when to use Garen's Q is crucial. The user needs to decide the timing for Q and W, which reflects differences in proficiency and understanding.

Q: What is the best thing about being on the same team as player Lehends?

Chovy : Firstly, it's very fun, which is the biggest part. Player Lehends creates a good atmosphere for the team. Besides that, he is outstanding as a player. Working with him brings many positive effects, and our results improve, which is why we often reach the finals.

Q: How do you want to be remembered at GEN in the future?

Chovy : I haven't thought about how I want to be remembered at GEN. I just feel that my presence will remain. In the future, if I no longer play for GEN, I don't really want to be remembered. I just hope that my presence is felt when GEN performs well.

Q: Many people say that your career achievements are comparable to player knight's and that you are rivals. What do you think about this?

Chovy :I personally don't think much about who my rivals are. Player knight and I have similar career achievements, but we play in different leagues. I think we are both excellent mid laners. Actually, because we are not in the same league, I don't feel like we are rivals. If we were in the same league, knight is very good, and it might make us feel like rivals. In reality, I might think that way too.

Q: What will you focus on preparing for the finals?

Chovy : After going back, the team will communicate internally. There is still a lot of time left, and how we use this time is very important. We need to decide well on what to do.
