HLE finished the first round of the 2024 LCK Summer Split regular season with a record of 7 wins and 2 losses. Peanut promised to do his best to ensure the team ranks at least in the top two by the end of the regular season. Additionally, he stated that they would give their all in the upcoming match against T1, emphasizing that victory should come from skill rather than luck.
On the 17th, after defeating KDF in the last match of the first round of the regular season, Peanut said in a post-match interview: “It's great to finish the first round of the regular season with excellent results, but we regret missing some matches that we could have won. So, we will work even harder in the second round to achieve better results.”
Regarding the team's improved performance in the summer split, Peanut pointed out: “Our team has become more cohesive. I remember we made significant progress starting from the latter part of the spring split, which has become more evident in the summer split.” Additionally, Peanut talked about his recent method of combining mind games and experience to formulate game strategies: “Since the start of my career, I've wanted to be a jungler who can shake the opponent. I'm always thinking about how to put more pressure on the opponent and constantly worry if I'm achieving that.”
Regarding the opponent's choice of support Sion in the first game against KDF, Peanut said: “Zeka mentioned that he had encountered KDF's support player practicing this champion in ranked games, so we were somewhat prepared for it. However, even if they did pick it, I didn't think it would have any special impact. I'm glad our draft was better than theirs.”
About Viper's recent explosive performance, Peanut explained: “In fact, our ADC has always performed well, which means there is more uncertainty in the mid to late game. Even if we are at a disadvantage in the early to mid game, we will persist and not give up easily. Although we were at a disadvantage in the mid game today, we were able to make a comeback relying on the ADC's late-game ability.”
Regarding the goals for the second round of the regular season, Peanut said: “We plan to first win the upcoming match against T1 and then improve our competitive state and level as much as possible before facing strong opponents in the subsequent schedule. Regarding the match against T1, Peanut said: “We performed well in the last round against them, but it would be wrong to think we can easily defeat them because of that. There was some luck involved in the previous victory, and I believe we shouldn't rely on luck. Instead, we should improve our skills and achieve victory through that.”
