Collapse targets March 2027 return after losing motivation following third TI title
Team Spirit offlaner Magomed “ Collapse ” Khalilov has outlined a tentative return to competitive Dota 2 around March 2027, explaining that his break followed a loss of motivation after winning his third International.
Speaking on a YouTube show, Collapse said the prospect of another full season—and the possibility of adding more trophies—was no longer Enough to sustain his competitive drive.
January would Not provide Enough recovery time
Collapse considered several possible lengths for his absence. he initially contemplated taking an entire year away, then considered returning in January, before deciding that the shorter break would Not allow Enough time to rest and address personal priorities.
Those priorities include spending time at the gym and improving his physical condition. March is therefore his current estimate, rather than a confirmed date for rejoining an Active roster.
Competitive preparation leaves little room for switching off
Collapse also described the difficulty of balancing other activities with professional play. During bootcamps and tournaments, he prefers to concentrate fully on preparation, while taking time away can leave him thinking about opponents continuing to practise.
For now, he occasionally plays Dota with Friends for enjoyment.
The interview also offered a different perspective on tournament pressure: Collapse said the crowd support in Shanghai increased his confidence, helping him feel freer in his decisions around the map.
Spirit continues with Batyuk
Collapse ’s last tournament before the break was The International 2026. Team Spirit moved him to its inactive roster on September 21, with Batyuk taking over the starting offlane position.
His comments provide a potential timeframe for returning to competition, but do Not confirm an immediate change to Spirit ’s current lineup.
