LGD Gaming sweep Xtreme Gaming to reach PGL Wallachia upper final
LGD Gaming advanced to the upper-bracket final of PGL Wallachia Season 9 after sweeping Xtreme Gaming 2:0 in their September 25 semifinal.
The victory also gave LGD immediate revenge for their group-stage meeting four days earlier, when Xtreme defeated them by the same 2:0 scoreline.
LGD reverse their earlier result
The two teams had already met during the Swiss stage on September 21, with Xtreme winning both games to secure their playoff place.
Their rematch produced the opposite outcome.
LGD took both maps of the upper-bracket semifinal, ending Xtreme’s unbeaten run through the opening stages of the playoffs and securing a place in the next round without needing a deciding game.
Xtreme drop into lower bracket
Xtreme entered the series after sweeping Team Nemesis 2:0 in the upper-bracket quarterfinals, while LGD advanced by defeating Natus Vincere 2:1.
LGD's win sends them into the upper-bracket final, putting the team one series away from reaching the grand final.
Xtreme Gaming remain alive in the tournament but now move into the lower bracket, where another defeat would end their PGL Wallachia Season 9 run.
