Valve Changed the Dota 2 Map in Patch 7.39

Valve Changed the Dota 2 Map in Patch 7.39

In Patch 7.39, Valve continues to refine Dota 2’s revamped map — the latest changes affect key areas that influence game tempo, objective control, and movement across lanes. These updates could significantly alter the strategies used in both professional and pub matches.

The most notable adjustments were made to the bottom and middle lanes: jungle paths have become slightly more complex, and tower positions were subtly shifted. These tweaks create new dynamics for ganks and defense, prompting teams to rethink their early-game rotations.

The midlane has also been updated — several trees were removed, making the area much more open. This could change how players contest runes or fight at the 6-minute mark, with improved vision and more space to maneuver.

In contrast, both Lotus Pool areas are now more enclosed, thanks to denser forest and less direct paths. Approaching these zones now requires greater caution, and controlling the Lotus may become a more contested and strategic part of the game.

While the changes may seem minor at first glance, map details often decide the outcome of matches at the highest level. Players and coaches will need to adapt quickly to maintain their edge. Upcoming tournaments will reveal how these adjustments affect the meta and the competitive landscape. Check the full patch note by this link.
