Kami pointed out a telling moment regarding Dyrachyo's MMR rating
Kyialbek "Kami" Tairov, the captain of Night Pulse , remarked that Anton "Dyrachyo" Shkredov won tournaments even when he had a measly 500 MMR rank. To him, this fact alone provides evidence that at the Tier-1 level, MMR means next to nothing.
That esports insight was shared at FISSURE Universe, Episode 4.
“I personally feel that at the Tier-1 or Tier-1.5 level, MMR doesn’t matter at all. There are even players with a measly 500 who manage to win tournaments. Dyrachyo won his first two tournaments when he was around 500 MMR. There are plenty of situations like this. At the end of the day, sadly, MMR isn’t that important anymore. Other things are way more important"
As far as the Dota 2 competitive level is concerned, Tairov argued, MMR is not a key factor. Still, he admitted it showcases the level of commitment and understanding of game mechanics a player possesses.
Vladimir "No[o]ne" Minenko commented previously that Valve needs to hire pro players for $10,000, Dota 2 patch balancing is too complex for anyone else.
