The captain of BetBoom Team directly named the reason for the team's failures
Vitaliy "Save-" Melnik, the captain of BetBoom Team , opines that the cause of the losing streak during DreamLeague 25 stems from the recent patch 7.38 update. His claim is that the users have no clue on how to play Dota 2 anymore.
The player address this concern post match during interviews.
“Once the patch released, we were affected too strongly on top of everything else. To be perfectly honest, we just could not figure how to play. Slowly, we are learning a better approach. That is why, every single game, we are better than the last one. That is it for me, I feel like the patch simply **** us all”
Save brought up the point that four games in a row have been lost on the back of constant adjusting to new features in a patch. He stated that there was a lot to appreciate in the new patch, but there is some glaring issues to sort out as well. The captain of the BetBoom Team made it clear that the map design needs to be adjusted again, and so does the Tormentor mechanic.
"I appreciate the patch bringing in some fresh water and other elements. However, at this moment, I don’t like it. Many things need to be worked on. The map, for example, along with the Tormentor. I don’t think it should function like this. Maybe it should not be so impactful in battles. The map also feels off. Everything important is stored in the corners. Outposts near the portals have been removed, which has limited the possibilities for rotations. As a result, catching opponents in transition is very difficult"
It is clear that Save is not the only one voicing concern regarding the ultimatum of the Tormentor. The problem is that the first team that kills the Tormentor on the 15-minute mark has a very strong position which increases their chances on winning uncontested.
