NS revealed the release date of the new Dota 2 patch and unveiled its main feature
Former esports player and current streamer Yaroslav Kuznetsov, better known as “Yaroslav NS,” predicted on twitch that the new Dota 2 patch will go live from February 11 to 14. The new patch will most importantly add the heroes Kez and Ringmaster into Captains Mode.
“I'm certain that the patch will come next week. I would stake my hat on the fact that the patch will be released between February 11 and 14. It is hard to judge what the patch will be, but my guess is that it will not be that significant. It can have something to do with ranking and matchmaking”
NS noted that the new patch will be more central to the overall ranking system and may include balance tweaks overall. As per him, the patch will have to be released before Dream League 25.
“Here, it appears that updates will only impact Captain's Mode; therefore, I don't think it will be a super-global patch. Maybe they can add or remove some armor as well. The main thing is that Ringmaster and Kez will be added to Captain's Mode. This is being done so that all heroes are available for DreamLeague 25. I suspect that is how it will be”
Based on his speculation, Valve aims to let teams use the two new heroes (who are not available for use in official games) at DreamLeague Season 25. But as we know, Valve has said nothing officially, which means that, as NS suggested, the timing of the patch is still uncertain. There is also the chance that Valve will try to release it prior to the last section of the tournament, like they have done in the past.
Let’s remember that Valve finally did those adjustments that have been pending for ages, like many Dota 2 players have been wishing for.
