Team Falcons made a concerning statement about The International 2025
Jingjun " Sneyking " Wu, captain of Team Falcons , stated that the prestige and community interest in The International are declining, and according to him, Valve is unlikely to fix the situation.
Sneyking shared this in an interview with Dota 2.ru.
I“I personally feel the prestige and audience interest in the tournament are dropping”, “I don’t think Valve will change anything”. In his perspective, the company does not care to increase the prize pool, and a few million dollars generate less excitement because the tournament has become similar to other events. “Everyone remembers The International 2021 with a $40 million prize pool: how Team Spirit lifted the Aegis, how True Sight was released. Now, viewers and players have fewer reasons to consider TI a prestigious tournament”
Sneyking estimates Valve will keep the prize pool as is, or continue to decrease it. This investment was one of the biggest differentiating factors among the other tournaments. Furthermore, the esports player claimed that the level of interest in The International is not only reducing among the viewers, but as well pro players. In his words, the Riyadh Masters 2025 will be more popular than the International 2025.
Earlier, Yaraslav “ NS ” Kuznetsov claimed that Dota 2 is so good, there is a serious challenger and many players may move to it.
