Yatoro made harsh comments about The International 2024, sharing his thoughts on what's happening with Dota 2
Ilya " Yatoro " Mulyarchuk, the former carry of Team Spirit , stated that The International 2024 has lost its former glory and that Dota 2 is transforming, becoming more like CS2.
The two-time world champion shared this during a twitch stream.
"Is Dota dying or not? I think Dota 2 is being reborn into a slightly different game, especially in terms of esports. It's becoming more like the familiar systems in CS, Valorant, and so on. TI is dead ****. Of course, it's still significant, but you can't just form a stack, roll through TI, and skip the entire season if you want to succeed. First of all, the prize pool is smaller now. Going forward, Dota 2 will work more like CS2, with academy teams and all that"
The esports player harshly criticized TI13, saying the tournament has completely fallen off, though it remains significant. Yatoro doesn't believe Dota 2 is dying but rather transforming into a new game that will be more focused on esports, resembling CS2 and Valorant.
According to the player, youth squads of tier-1 teams will gain more prominence on the pro scene. It's possible that the wave of academy rosters will start with Team Spirit .
Previously, Yatoro stated that he might leave Team Spirit and join another team after returning from inactivity.
