An Olympic athlete has emerged as the highest-ranked player in Dota 2

Maxine Esteban, a fencer representing Cote d'Ivoire at the 2024 Olympics, revealed that she loves Dota 2 and is a top-tier player, holding the Immortal rank.

She shared this in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

"I started playing during the pandemic. My dad plays Dota, so he taught me. It's a family hobby that brings us together. We play every day until 5 AM. When we play, I am very happy; those are some of the most memorable moments in my life. We also play at our training base in Germany when we have nothing else to do"

The athlete, who ranks 27th in the global fencing rankings, admitted that Dota 2 is her family hobby, and she sometimes plays with her father until 5 AM, which are some of the happiest moments of her life.

She also mentioned that she plays mid and support roles in matchmaking.

"I have the Immortal rank, the highest in the game. My favorite roles are mid and support. My favorite heroes are Windranger, Witch Doctor, and Ogre Magi"

The news about the Olympic athlete being a top-tier Dota 2 player quickly spread on social media and created a buzz in the gaming community. The girl received numerous compliments, and many expressed their desire to play with her in matchmaking.
