Cloud9 unexpectedly defended TORONTOTOKYO following the scandal with Nix
Dmitry "DM" Dorokhin, representing Cloud9, defended Alexander " TORONTOTOKYO " Khertik of BetBoom Team after harsh criticism from streamer Alexander " Nix " Levin.
He shared his opinion during an interview published on the BetBoom Team YouTube channel.
"I saw that Nix was criticizing TORONTOTOKYO . Just imagine if TORONTOTOKYO spent 5 hours playing pubs as a 'five'. Then he spent another 5 hours playing mid. Just imagine. It's his free time. If he wants to play StoRm on mid and crush it, why not? What's the difference? I disagree with Nix 's criticism"
The scandal started when TORONTOTOKYO chose to go mid in his pubs instead of playing support like always prior to Riyadh Masters 2024 thus leaving Nix very angry about that decision. He said that before one of Dota 2’s biggest tournaments, such behavior was irresponsible and noted that the e-sport competitor should spend more time on his role.
Moreover, DM added that both TORONTOTOKYO has been training with his team as well as working on his position in matches. He also believes that even if they are playing matchmaking in their spare time, a support player can do anything they want including playing different roles than usual. DM emphasized on how wrong Nink had been in this case.
