Virtus.Pro captain leaves the Dota 2 roster
Artem ‘Fng’ Barshak has moved to the reserve bench, leaving his position as a Dota 2 saboteur and captain of Virtus.Pro 's Dota 2 roster. The cybersport organisation is testing new players to replace him.
The corresponding announcement appeared on the official Virtus.Pro website.
‘The captain of Virtus.Pro 's Dota 2 lineup Artyom ‘fng’ Barshak has been transferred to the reserve. In the near future the club will be testing players for his position.
Artyom is a significant player in the history of the club. He returned to the squad at a difficult time for us and helped the young players to gain confidence. We had some good moments, but we failed to achieve global goals, so now it's time for a change.
Artem ‘fng’ Barshak has played more than 800 maps for Virtus.Pro . Together with the club he took 5-6th place at The International 5, won several significant tournaments, and also coached our squad for TI in 2022.
In the near future, Virtus.Pro and fng will discuss possible options to continue working together.’
Virtus.Pro had one of their worst results at the Riyadh Masters 2024, leaving the tournament after the first Play-In stage. The team lost their match against Blacklist International and also drew their remaining matches. Having finished the first group stage with the fourth place, the team played a match for the next stage with the fifth place of Group B - MOUZ, but lost the decisive match.
Recall that earlier Artem ‘Fng’ Barshak spoke frankly about the early departure of the team from the tournament.
