Maelstorm: VP's performance is sometimes excellent, but at other times, it's quite poor
On January 28th, VP suffered a loss to Klim Sani4 in the qualifiers of ESL One Birmingham 2024. Following the match, Maelstorm, Eiritel, and VP's manager Lukawa provided comments on the team's performance:
Maelstorm: "I used to believe that VP could not only secure qualification for the Birmingham station but even win the championship. Sometimes VP plays really well, but at other times, it's like they are in a complete nightmare; the players seem to be playing as if their monitors were turned off. The match against Spirit yesterday was unsettling, and the entire series sometimes felt surprising. Today's performance, especially from Void, can be described as devastating. Such a performance could be a one-time tragedy, but if it repeatedly occurs, then we need to find the reasons and address them."
Eiritel: "It's a bit regrettable for VP, but at least they didn't lose qualification for all tournaments in the next three months like some other well-known teams. We hope they will prepare well for the 2024 Dubai BetBoom Dacha."
Lukawa: "If the DPC still existed, do you think Klim Sani4's players would have qualified for the offline games? Then you say there is no improvement, everything will get worse, and for you, progress is three Tier 4 teams going to offline tournaments?"
VP had two opportunities to secure a spot at ESL One Birmingham 2024 but lost to Spirit and Klim Sani4 in both instances, with a 1-2 scoreline in each match. Their next competition will be the 2024 Dubai BetBoom Dacha, scheduled for February 4-16 in Dubai, offering a prize pool of $1 million. This marks VP's first participation in offline tournaments since the 2023 International Invitational.
