Endpoint announces a pause in CS2 due to changes in the esports landscape

Endpoint , one of the leading esports organizations in the UK, has announced a temporary pause in its Counter-Strike division. In an official statement, the team explained that this decision is due to changes in the esports landscape and underperformance in recent years.

“The landscape of Counter-Strike has changed dramatically. While we still retain the goal of making the Major, with our recent form and the changes to the invitation process, that goal is now probably the furthest away that it has ever been.”

Endpoint also emphasized the difficulty of climbing the VRS rankings, noting that the invitation-based event system creates a “much smaller and more closed ecosystem.”

“Combining this with a lack of funding in the UK esports scene, ultimately means that the costs incurred compared to revenue (or potential of) just becomes too much of a risk to the wider company.”

Nevertheless, the organization said it will continue to support young talent in the UK and remain open to signing a new team in the future.

Eight years of Counter-Strike history
Endpoint entered CS in 2016 and has become a real platform for developing talent that has gone on to succeed in Tier-1 tournaments. Players such as Shahar “flameZ” Shushan, Mohammad “BOROS” Malhas, Guy “NertZ” Iluz, Nikita “HeavyGod” Martynenko, and Henrich “sl3nd” Hevesi started their careers in Endpoint .

At the moment, all Endpoint players have become free agents without a buyout:

Max “MiGHTYMAX” Heath
Kia“Surreal” Man
Joey “CRUC1AL” Steusel
Oscar “AZUWU” Bell
Jan “cej0t” Dyl

The future of the organization
Endpoint CEO Adam Jessop emphasized that the pause in the CS2 does not mean a complete abandonment of this discipline. The organization plans to support local initiatives and review opportunities for returning to CS if the right conditions arise.

Endpoint are leaving their mark on British esports, and their contribution to the development of the game will be remembered for a long time.
