G2 announced the signing of HeavyGod

G2 Esports has officially introduced its newest player - Nikita “HeavyGod” Martynenko. The Israeli eSports player will replace Nikola “NiKo” Kovacs, who recently joined Falcons , as part of a large-scale roster upgrade for G2 in 2025.

HeavyGod joins G2 after a seven-month stint at Cloud9 . During this time, he helped the team qualify for the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 , demonstrating an impressive 6.9 rating on the European RMR. Overall, the player maintained an average rating of 6.5 during his time with Cloud9 , which confirms his consistent play and reliability as a rifleman.

HeavyGod himself commented on his move as follows:

Cloud9 is left with one active player
HeavyGod's departure leaves Cloud9 with only one active player, Timofey “interz” Yakushin. The organization is in the process of a major roster overhaul after selling Kaisar “ICY” Fayznurov to Virtus.pro , as well as Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov and Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov to BetBoom.
