HLTV 2024 Best Player TOP18: ropz
With his high and low limit data throughout the year and his outstanding performance in the Shanghai Major, ropz successfully won the TOP18 player of the year.
Past Introduction:
ropz has made it into the TOP20 list for the seventh time in a row, thanks to his high-level performances throughout the year and his final push at the Shanghai Major.
ropz 's rise to fame is well known. As the first player to rise to prominence through the ladder system, the young Estonian faced accusations of cheating from the wider professional community. He was invited to the platform's headquarters in London in March 2017 to compete under supervision, thus quelling doubts about his talent.
Soon after, ropz found his first home on the professional road, and the German club Mouz took a fancy to the young rifler. His first few months with Mouz were up and down, and then suNny and STYKO joined the team in August 2017, helping the team to get things right, and the newly formed lineup won its first trophy at the ESG Mykonos Tour in September, followed by a series of victories in other competitions in early 2018.
ropz won multiple trophies with Mouz within a year of starting his professional career

Why is ropz the TOP18 in 2024?
Of the 13 major tournaments he participated in throughout the year, ropz was a valuable player in at least 12 events, thus securing a solid 18th place in the 2024 TOP20 player list.
No matter what level of competition he is in (Major tournaments average 1.11 rating, super elite tournaments average 1.09 rating, elite tournaments average 1.09 rating, tournaments average 1.09 rating), no matter what stage he is in (arena average 1.09 rating, tournaments average 1.09 rating, home games average 1.11 rating), his performance is outstanding.
In addition, the Estonian star performed well in the Shanghai Major and won the EVP title, which was his last attempt to enter the TOP20.
But apart from his outstanding performance in the knockout round of the Shanghai Major, his stable level in the game is due to a higher floor than most people, rather than outstanding performance. This is largely why the Shanghai Major EVP is his only award this year, and the main reason why he cannot climb up with a relatively low base - the annual rating of 1.09 is the lowest among the TOP20.
