aliStair : we want to win glory for Australian CS

After the team's first day of competition in the opening stage of the Shanghai Major, FlyQuest player aliStair was interviewed by foreign media.

FlyQuest undoubtedly surprised many people on the first day of the Shanghai Major. As the favorite to be eliminated 0-3, they broke the stereotype of the outside world and dominated Complexity to win.

FlyQuest was able to advance from the Asian RMR and secure the third and final qualifying spot for the Shanghai Major thanks to The MongolZ ’s success in reaching the main draw of the Copenhagen Major earlier this year.

Now FlyQuest will have a chance to accomplish the same feat as they finished the day with a 2-0 record, just one best-of-three win away from advancing to the round of 16.

However, aliStair does not want to stop there. He hopes to bring glory to Australian CS and continue to move forward to compete in the Major.

Q: Congratulations on entering the 2-0 group today. Do you want to not only destroy others' 0-3 work, but also destroy their 3-0 work?

A: Yeah, that's right. The team feels really good. Everyone is playing well, trusting each other, and making the right decisions.

Q: Before coming to the Major, you qualified from Asia RMR with the third place. I talked to Dexter before , and he said that you felt pressure in RMR. Do you feel less pressure now?

A: No, I think when we felt tons of pressure and we actually came through, it was a relief. After that game, the DRILLAS game, coming back from the brink of elimination, we knew we could really do anything.

Obviously, DRILLAS is not on the same level as the teams here, but once we got over that, we played like we were scrimmages and it showed.

Q: Before RMR, you guys were on a really good run, winning 14 games in a row. What does it mean to you to be able to come here and show that, and be one win away from advancing to the next stage?

A: It means a lot. Obviously, it's been a long time since an Australian team has made it to the next stage, so we want to do everyone back home proud and make it through. We're not stopping here, we want to keep going and try to compete at the Major.

Q: In the last Major, The MongolZ won another spot for Asia. Now you have a chance too. How do you feel about this?

A: That's awesome. It's awesome to win something like this for our region, it means a lot. I'm glad The MongolZ paved the way for us because obviously they were in really good form and showed really good CS. I'm glad we were able to do the same.

Q: In terms of your personal form, there has been some discussion about performance and how this team can develop further. How does it feel for you personally to be here and achieve this?

A: It's good. I worked a lot on myself before Atlanta. I had one of the worst EPL seasons ever and Atlanta was a big breakthrough for me.

It's just a process of constantly working on myself, working on my mentality, not being negative, staying positive, and working on myself in and out of the game. For me, everything has been going well so far, and I will continue to do my best to help the guys.

Q: Do you have anything to say about tomorrow’s 2-0 group match?

A: Guys, screw your homework and bring it on!

FlyQuest will face Liquid at 13:00 noon today .
