After defeating Spirit last night, G2's player malbsMd was interviewed by foreign media. In the interview, he talked about his Ace in the final round on Dust2, finding his place in G2, and the upcoming semifinal against Vitality .

Congratulations on your victory. You now have a three-game winning streak against Spirit and have smoothly advanced to the semifinals of the Autumn Finals. How do you feel now?

It feels really good. I feel like... how to say it? (Against Spirit) we felt like G2 playing against Natus Vincere 's NaVi, you know what I mean? It feels great, I'm really happy. Making it to the semifinals in a prestigious event is a fantastic thing.

It seems like your performance improved as the game on Dust2 progressed. You ended the first map with a thrilling Ace, which seems to be your specialty. After all, you had a similar performance against NaVi in the eSports World Cup. Can you talk about your performance on the map?

It was really great. Just like I said in the live interview, I simply asked my teammates to allow me to take a Hero AK, and they let me do it, saying they would play around me. Then everything fell into place, and I got the Ace.

Considering your teammates are top CS stars, how does it feel to wield the Hero AK and shoulder such a responsibility?

It feels great because it shows that I am as excellent as my teammates. They gave me a lot of opportunities and freedom, allowing me to do whatever I wanted. Honestly, it feels really amazing.

You also started strong on Mirage, securing four kills in the pistol round. But then you suddenly stopped scoring. What went wrong in the middle of the map?

I don't know. Honestly, I really don't remember what happened. I think we just made some small mistakes in our decisions during the rounds, and those small mistakes always mess things up.

But in the end, you managed to come back from a 4-10 deficit. And you did it on the defensive side, which is particularly impressive given that you seemed to struggle on defense recently. How did you achieve the comeback?

As long as NiKo and m0NESY can get four kills each round, I don't need to retake anything. So as long as they can do that, I'm fine with it. I can't make too many moves on the map because I have to hold the main point and other responsibilities. So I just stay at the bomb site and watch things unfold.

You've been playing the main point position for a while now. You used to play the core positions on the map, but now you're on the edges. Do you need to adjust your mindset during the matches?

A little bit. I'm used to being a super aggressive player, constantly peeking opponents feels great. But now I need to be more conservative, I have to play retakes at certain times... I can keep fighting, so sometimes I need to understand that. It's hard for me because it can feel a bit boring, I just want to kill people, you know? But I can't do that in these positions.

Next, you will face Vitality, who are in good form right now. How do you feel about this match?

Since it's not NaVi, it's fine (laughs). Of course, I'm joking. Vitality is a very strong team, we respect them a lot, but at this level, you can't respect everyone too much, you just have to treat your opponents as if they were random players. We just need to play our game well and strive to reach the finals.
