BnTeT's Alter Ego among 11 teams to pass final Asia RMR open qualifiers
Open qualifiers on the road to the Shanghai Major in East Asia and Rest of Asia have concluded with five teams passing through to the closed stage in the former sub-region and six teams in the latter.
Among those who made it in Rest of Asia are Alter Ego featuring some well-known names from the region, including former TyLoo duo Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand and WingHei "Freeman" Cheung and ex- MVP PK star Hyun-Pyo "XigN" Lee.
The mixed roster won the open qualifier and joined invited sides True Rippers and Gods Reign and five other qualified teams in the closed qualifier, where they'll fight it out for an Asia RMR spot from August 28-30.
Rest of Asia closed qualifier (August 28-30)
In East Asia, three East Russian and two Mongolian sides traversed the open qualifier to join Chinggis Warriors, ATOX and GR in the closed qualifier, which will also be played from August 28-30.
In a rather absurd turn of events, Glamour made it to the closed qualifier despite the fact that they were forced to forfeit their quarter-final matchup at the beginning of the second day due to one of their players being asleep. The Russian side ended up winning the fifth-place decider bracket with two consecutive victories just a few hours later.

The two qualifiers were the last of a series of seven open tournaments which fed teams into the five Asian sub-regions' closed qualifiers along with the Valve Regional Standings.
Previously the Chinese, Middle Eastern, and Oceanic closed qualifiers had their full team lists completed. Each of these will also qualify one team for the Asia RMR, which will take place in Shanghai, China from November 11-14 and offer three spots at the Perfect World Shanghai Major.
