So far, Spirit , G2, FaZe, Mouz , and Natus Vincere have all won championships in S-tier tournaments, establishing themselves as top-tier teams in their winning journey.

This year has also been one of the most competitive years in CS history. Therefore, we believe it is time to review the greatest team lineups in CS history, to see who could break through and dominate in 2024.

To select the best lineups in CS history, we once again consulted with Danish analyst and former professional player Lucas Andersen | Bubzkji.

TOP1: 2018- 2019   Astralis Lineup

Lukas Rossander | gla1ve

Emil Reif | Magisk

Andreas Højsleth | Xyp9x

Nicolai Reedtz | device

Peter Rasmussen | dupreeh

Aside from Astralis in 2018, who else can compete for the title of the best lineup in CS history?

If you are familiar with CS, you will understand their playstyle and how they dominated CS. During Astralis' peak, they won three consecutive Major championships and the first Intel Grand Slam, completely changing the game's meta.

After Markus Kjærbye | Kjaerbye controversially left the team and joined their arch-enemy North , Magisk's arrival took Astralis to unprecedented heights. This team perfectly embodies the concept of "teamwork," and their adaptable style adds flexibility to their tactical system, allowing them to maximize efficiency. Other teams had to imitate them in hopes of keeping up with their pace.

TOP2: 2022-2023 FaZe Lineup

Finn Andersen | karrigan

Russel Van Dulken | Twistzz

Helvijs Saukants | broky

Robin Kool | ropz

Håvard Nygaard | rain

Everyone expected the CS scene to be chaotic after the pandemic, but that was not the case. NAVI became the world's dominant team in 2021. With the star power of s1mple, electronic, Perfecto, and the push from young talent b1t, they presented the viewers with an almost unanswerable question: Who can compete with this team?

In fact, this question was quickly answered. At the beginning of 2022, FaZe recruited ropz, and they quickly became a formidable team in the CS scene. FaZe won consecutive victories in IEM Katowice, IEM Cologne, ESL Pro League Season 15, and PGL Antwerp Major in the first half of 2022, clinching four of the most important tournament championships. They defeated the incredible NAVI team in the Major final and also triumphed over G2 led by NiKo , huNter-, and m0NESY in the IEM Katowice final.

Afterwards, FaZe's momentum slowed down, and they failed to win any championships for the rest of 2022. However, in 2023, they defeated Cloud9 in the EPL Season 17 Finals, completing the Intel Grand Slam. Later that year, they dominated the early stages of CS's new version, winning three consecutive tournament finals before Twistzz joined Liquid, reaching another final.

TOP3: 2015  Fnatic Lineup

Jesper Wecksell | JW

Robin Rönnquist | flusha

Olof Kajbjer | olofmeister

Freddy Johansson | KRIMZ

Markus Wallsten | pronax

dennis Edman | dennis (replaced pronax in November that year)

Another lineup selected by Bubzkji for the top CS lineup in history is the 2015 fnatic lineup, which managed to maintain success even after losing their leader (pronax) at the end of 2015.

The most impressive achievement of this legendary team was winning consecutive Major championships at ESL One Katowice and ESL One Cologne in 2015. Winning two back-to-back Majors made fnatic the first team in CS history to achieve this feat, which was almost impossible before.

They also won the EPL Season 1 championship, defeating Cloud9 3-1 in the finals and Virtus.pro in the semifinals. Later, led by dennis, they added another championship trophy in EPL Season 2, and won the FACEIT League Stage 3 Finals and the Katowice event in 2016.

TOP4: 2016 LG/ SK Lineup

Gabriel Toledo | FalleN

Marcelo David | coldzera

Epitacio de Melo | TACO

Fernando Alvarenga | fer

Lincoln Lau | fnx

Next up, this iconic Brazilian team won two consecutive Majors in 2016. Considering fnatic's performance in the previous year, this might not seem impressive, but you have to remember that CSGO was completely dominated by the European scene before the arrival of FalleN and his teammates.

This Brazilian team not only successfully won two consecutive Majors, but they also became a force to be reckoned with in Brazil, where CS had not experienced much success. With coldzera becoming one of the greatest players in CS history, they suddenly became an unstoppable force.

They also adopted a completely unorthodox playstyle, with FalleN as the main AWPer and in-game leader. Combined with some incredible classic tactics, they were an unforgettable powerhouse.

TOP5: 2019 Liquid Lineup

Jake Yip | Stewie2K

Nick Cannella | nitr0

Jonathan Jablonowski | EliGE

Keith Markovic | NAF

Russel Van Dulken | Twistzz

TOP5 goes to the Liquid team that completed the Intel Grand Slam within 63 days in 2019.

Throughout the previous year, Liquid had been trailing behind Astralis, but Stewie2K's addition brought them a significant advantage and a winning mentality, leading to the creation of this legendary team.

Detractors may try to overshadow their achievements because they did not win a Major championship, but their performance was impressive even by Astralis' standards, and we have not seen anything similar since then.

TOP6: 2021 NAVI Lineup

Oleksandr Kostyliev | s1mple

Kirill Mikhailov | Boombl4(Rus)

Denis Sharipov | electronic

Valeriy Vakhovskiy | b1t

Ilya Zalutskiy | Perfecto(RUS)

The final team is the NAVI lineup of 2021.

NAVI was the dominant team of the late online era of CS and managed to maintain a strong performance even after returning to offline tournaments.

During this period, s1mple reached new heights in his gameplay, but what was most impressive was promoting b1t from the academy team, and he performed exceptionally well. They also won the first Major championship after the pandemic. They will be remembered for a long time, especially as the first team in CS history to win a Major championship without dropping a single map.
