Found an unexpected solution to internet connection problems in Counter-Strike 2

Screen format can affect the stability of the internet connection in Counter-Strike 2. During his research, he tested the theory on three different PCs and found that changing the screen resolution from 16:9 to 4:3 eliminates connection problems.

MOLECULAR claims that simply changing the screen resolution is enough to get rid of internet problems. If you don't notice any red packet loss warnings when playing games, you don't need to change the settings. However, if the Internet connection is weak and there is a lot of pinging, you should try to change the screen format and enjoy the game without problems.

Dataminer admitted that he himself doesn't fully understand how changing the screen resolution affects connection stability and packet loss in the Source 2 engine. Nevertheless, his findings may help many players facing such problems.

The dataminer also shared that Valve is planning to add a switch for the Vulkan API, similar to the one already implemented in Dota 2. In addition, the game has a new command "cl_tickpacket_desired_queuelength", which helps with registering hits. The values of this command range from 0 to 5, and dataminer advises players to try out each value, as the optimal result depends on the ping with the servers and will be individualized for everyone.

Findings like MOLECULAR can make a big difference in how players approach customizing their PCs. Changing screen resolution has become an unexpected but effective way to improve the stability of an internet connection. This simple solution may be just what you need to enjoy your game without lags and connection problems.
