In the interview, he talked about the map selection for the BO5 final, the issues exposed by the team's defeat, and the future of this lineup, among other things.
Q: I want to talk to you about the map selection. For example, why did you choose Dust2?
A: It doesn't matter which map we choose because there are five maps. We can choose any map from the five, and we have won Dust2 twice, so it's a good map for us.
Q: If you look at the data, you will find that the Spirit players have performed very well, with high ratings on almost all maps. So it doesn't matter which map you choose?
A: Not really. Dust2 is our strong map, and we need to be more proactive.
Q: If you look at the details, do you think the Spirit players have better aim than you?
A: I haven't watched the game yet, so I don't know. But overall, we made a lot of mistakes and didn't control the situation on the field well. It's a lack of experience.
Q: Speaking of the results of this season. You won the Major championship and then stopped in the semifinals several times. And now you lost in the final. What do you think of NAVI's performance this season?
A: I think it's pretty good. It's motivating for us to reach the final of this event. We have proven that we can defeat top teams. We have confidence in beating Virtus.pro and Astralis . So even though everything hasn't been smooth, it hasn't been completely disappointing either.
Q: What do you think of the NAVI players in the final?
A: The players did their best and performed at their best, so I can't say that one player is stronger than others. Every player in the team did their best, they also had their moments of brilliance on the field, but at the same time, they also had their moments of poor performance. So, everyone in the team is the same.
Q: Do you feel that NAVI lacks the overall level to defeat Spirit in major tournaments?
A: I don't know either. Maybe BO5 is a bit difficult to play because there are many maps to prepare for. For example, yesterday we spent four and a half hours just preparing before the match, and today's schedule only gave us two hours because we finished the match yesterday evening. And you have to go to the venue at one o'clock for the corresponding adjustments.
Q: So you mean your preparation time is not enough?
A: Of course, the time is not enough, but at the same time, the ideas we prepared before the match did not apply 100% in the game, and there were some mistakes in the implementation process as well.
Q: So according to your explanation, your prepared content was not fully implemented?
A: We made mistakes in the execution process. Everything wasn't smooth, either at some place or with some player, we always missed something.
Q: Do you think it's an experience issue then?
A: Experience is definitely a factor, but when it comes to playing five maps, there's also a lot of information to process. You have to understand everything step by step to excel. And achieving this is not easy.
Q: You will have a break now and time to analyze everything. What are the next plans for NAVI?
A: It's vacation time now, and we will have a training camp in July.
Q: The next stop is Cologne, right?
A: No. First, we will go to Saudi Arabia to participate in the EWC Esports World Cup, then the BLAST event in Copenhagen, and then the Cologne event.
Q: Will this lineup participate in the aforementioned events as well?
A: Yes, that's what I think.
