Zyphon: I feel like I've proven my value within a top-tier team

Rasmus Nordfoss, also known as Zyphon, gradually faded from the audience's view after Copenhagen Flames achieved breakthrough results. However, his former teammates seemed to have found good placements.

Heroic provided this player with a chance to shine on the T1 stage of events. Though he couldn't help the team reach their set goals, he played a significant role in the BLAST Premier Fall Finals and the World Finals.

After Heroic's regretful exit from the World Finals stage, this 19-year-old Danish player discussed his time with Heroic in an interview.

Q: Your time at Heroic has concluded, and perhaps things didn't unfold as you wished, but how do you feel after these experiences?

A: It's hard to say because I didn't step into the arena (playoffs) in both events, which disappointed me quite a bit. I thought the results could have been better, especially in the last round of the World Finals, where our opponents fielded substitutes. I felt we should have performed better. But let's let bygones be bygones; I can't dwell on the past and have to move forward.

Q: From your personal perspective, how do you feel about your performance?

A: I played two matches here, and I feel like I performed well on Map One. However, our team suffered significant losses. On the second map, I always felt a bit unstable and couldn't secure a good start. The games went relatively smoothly, but I believe I could have done better. I'm not sure why my performance dips on the second map; perhaps it's something I need to figure out.

Q: Previously, you mentioned wanting to prove your value within a top-tier team through these matches. Do you feel you've accomplished that now?

A: Personally, I feel like I have, but not so much as part of the team. Of course, we had only seven days of training coming here, practicing a map each day, which was incredibly tough. On top of that, we had two substitutes and TeSeS in his first shot at leading. He's figuring out how to be a good leader, so we couldn't expect remarkable results this time. Therefore, teamwork became even more challenging. But personally, I believe I've achieved decent results.

Q: What have you learned since joining Heroic?

A: The most significant takeaway was the team atmosphere. In this team, whenever there was good performance or good communication among us, we were always very happy. Even if we lost a round, we'd console each other, say "nice try," and get back at it the next round. That was the most significant difference, and I'll carry this experience 100% to Sprout and future teams.

Q: So, what's your next step in 2024?

A: It's uncertain at the moment. I'll leave the outcome to time.

Q: But can we expect to see you on the competition stage again?

A: I hope so. I'll do everything in my power and train hard for it.
