mezii happy to return as Vitality rediscover winning form
William " mezii " Merriman says he is delighted to be back competing with Vitality after missing BLAST Open Porto for the birth of his second child.
The British rifler returned to the lineup at StarLadder StarSeries Fall and helped Vitality secure an upper-bracket final berth with a convincing 2:0 victory over FURIA Esports .
"It's so weird when you're not there, like all your friends are at a party and you're not invited," mezii said about watching the team compete from home.
He admitted that he remains slightly rusty after the break and has also been dealing with illness since returning.
Vitality focused on Major
Vitality 's start to the second half of the season has been considerably less dominant than their early 2026 form.
The team entered StarSeries Fall looking to rebuild its confidence after a difficult stretch, including BLAST Open Porto where mezii was absent.
Their victory over FURIA Esports provided an encouraging sign, with Vitality looking far closer to their best level.
mezii said the team's primary long-term focus remains the Major.
"For us, it's just to prove to everyone that we can still win trophies," he said.
The British player added that Vitality want to make the most of every tournament they play together, particularly with further disruption expected when apEX misses PGL Masters Bucharest in October.
Vitality will next face aurora in the StarSeries Fall upper-bracket final.
