Vitality recover from Nuke collapse to beat FURIA Esports 2-1 at BLAST Open Porto

Vitality recovered from a disastrous opening map to defeat FURIA Esports 2:1 and secure a place in the BLAST Open Porto semi-finals.

FURIA Esports dominated Nuke and appeared ready to continue their momentum on Cache, but Vitality survived the second map before completely taking over the Dust2 decider.

FURIA Esports 1:2 Vitality

FURIA Esports opened the series with one of their strongest maps of the tournament.

They conceded only two deaths across the opening five rounds on Nuke and repeatedly punished Vitality 's attempts to take control.

Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo even found time to consult his notes while completing a 1v2 clutch as FURIA Esports continued building momentum.

Vitality needed nine rounds just to get onto the scoreboard.

Although they found some resistance later, the outcome was never seriously threatened.

FURIA Esports closed Nuke 13:6.

apEX later described Vitality 's attacking half as one of their worst T sides.

jL clutch keeps Vitality alive on Cache

FURIA Esports carried the momentum into Cache and again started strongly.

Vitality lost both pistol rounds, making the comeback considerably more difficult.

The turning point arrived late in the first half when Justinas "jL" Lekavicius won a 1v2 clutch, allowing Vitality to reduce the deficit to 8:4 at halftime.

The second half became far less structured.

Both sides relied heavily on individual plays as the map tightened.

Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut ultimately became the difference-maker, delivering a 1.72-rated performance as Vitality edged Cache 13:11.

That forced the series onto Dust2.

Vitality dominate decider

Dust2 had become one of Vitality 's most reliable maps during their Porto run.

They entered the decider on a five-match winning streak on the map, including three victories with jL standing in.

That familiarity immediately showed.

Vitality won the opening half 8:4 on the T side before completely shutting FURIA Esports down after the switch.

FURIA Esports failed to win a single second-half round.

Vitality closed Dust2 13:4 to complete the comeback and advance.

  • Nuke — FURIA Esports 13:6 Vitality

  • Cache — Vitality 13:11 FURIA Esports

  • Dust2 — Vitality 13:4 FURIA Esports

Vitality break top-four drought

The victory ends a run of four consecutive events in which Vitality failed to reach the top four.

KSCERATO finished as FURIA Esports 's highest-rated player across the series with a 1.09 rating, while molodoy followed at 1.02.

Vitality now advance to face Mouz in the semi-finals.

The matchup also gives jL another unusual reunion, as he prepares to face a team he previously represented as a substitute.

Vitality continue their Porto run without mezii, who remains absent on parental leave.
